not sure about the JV if you look at austins last few investments they have all been quite NRI % bombing range 37.5%, carrizo 27.1% and Mississippi 37.5% now with EFS it has a 70.125%NRI this is giving them much more control and return- i personally think AKK are trying to move away from partners and sharing the spoils and just dealing with landowners.
This acquisition mention "pending the release of announcement concerning a major acquisition and placement" could be mention to the finalizing of the eagle ford shale purchase as it says "concerning a major acquisition" and the large amount of funds expected to be raised are probably needed from there 1/4ly they have 4 wells in sebree to be completed this year, 3 wells planned for birch, i presume more testing in bombing range and not to mention the commencement projects large discovery to get up and running with expected costs of $500k and also wells to be finalized in parkcity
