Well I was wrong. I have just now received the reply from my accountant re claiming the tax write off on STL.

it appears DOCA by itself is not sufficient for the write off to occur. See response below.

The letter you provided in relation to Stargroup indicated that the company is no longer in administration with control passed to new company directors, who are endeavouring to get the company relisted on the ASX. To be able to write the shares off as a capital loss you would need a letter from the administrators to say the company has been liquidated with no possibility of any capital being returned to you.
