It used to be the FIRB. Now the only thing standing between the maurauding Chinese and SDL takeover is Mr George Jones and his resolve.
On the other hand, this could all be theatrics where GJ is also playing a role. Suspend the stock as if he is in a fist fight with the Chinese (when they may actually have long agreed for Han Long to leak the low bid plot through Reuters to an international audience so the Chinese can get their message out "don't expect us to pay more for IO").
As someone says, everybody walks away with something. Han Long then comes up with the final 7 cents and call it a gesture of goodwill.
Who knows. With the Chinese, nothing is ever what it seems.
