Bladerunner - I think it is starting to be a little more clear to posters the reality of the situation.
Notice how we are not hearing the "give me more than 45, I am digging my heels in" brigade. They have left the forum - maybe they have sold their shares?
GJ and GC are making the best of a very complex deal IMO. Two African nations, the Chinese with Hanlong, CDB, Steel Mills and NDRC. A $6 billion expense (that is why IMO the 45 is neither here nor there)
I think it is time to just take a breath and wait. We will be waiting either way, so may as well get used to it.
Look st the Glencore/Xstrata merger and how long that took.
Baukaw is right - we don't have many options. The Board know what they can and cannot do and they are thankfully foolhardy to burn their bridge.
I am confident that once the Chinese ducks are lined up, we will be fine. It will take a little longer, but we are close.
I think there is a wall of investors who will be very relieved when the 45 comes through.
