David25 might be concerned about black swan events, but the point with coal, is Russian coal is being frozen out of the market where possible. They are the 3rd largest exporter in the world, so essentially if they are frozen out, China will try to rebalance a touch, but not enough to cover Russian supply, so essentially global supply will decrease.

Even if there is a stock market crash, coal consumption would need to decline to cause declines in the price of thermal coal and I don't see it dropping anywhere near to that extent in the western world, so the statements around $40 coal is IMO nuts and pretty much tin hat stuff.

As my strategy has been all along, I sold out a small portion of my holding today (around 20%), in order to take my initial investment off the table (target for this has been hitting 50c so I did so today at 51.5c) but I still have high hopes over the remaining holding, to continue to push forward for both capital and future dividend returns.
