Yes, but another tool in the SP manipulator toolbox is to pick a stock with a share price with no earnings but good fundamentals likely to rise, scare the punters and trigger stops by driving the price down with a trade wash strategy (ie buy much of their own ever lower sell trades), buy up big at the bottom, let it drift up, sell at a profit, then start again. Aggressive short selling is only one of the tools in these guy's manipulation armory!
