    I think I posted this in the XJO thread a month or two ago. After the fallout of the GFC with President Obama, did he slash the feet out from under the greedy bankers that had deliberately and greedily caused the GFC? He had a popular mandate to do so (think occupy wall street) and the bankers knew they were caught red handed.

    In short, no. He brought his marketing team with him, and this is where social justice corporatism started. Big business rebranded as the greedy 1%ers to be the tip of the spear of social justice.

    Fines and repercussions? Hardly. Obama offered for the big institutions to pay some fines at a 50% discount rate if they made donations to NGOs... which on top of that were tax deductible. Which NGOs were they? His pet project (hyper 'progressive') that he couldn't get funding for via congress, even though he had great numbers! At the time, it was even too hard for the Democrats to stomach.

    So yes, it's a horribly corrupt system. Then again, is it really any different to sycophants having access to the Kings treasury, or dictators taking budgets without any semblence of helping the people? I suppose the scale is just bigger
