Silver Mines Limited is a consolidated play between former junior White Rock Minerals and Silver Mines with assets in northern NSWjust outside Mudgee.
The company, headed by Anthony McClure, has managed to attract investment from successful money-managers such as Tribeca Capital, which returned more than 100 per cent to investors this past financial year, Paradice Investments, Regal Asset Management and Blackrock.
Silver Mines, which has a market cap of just under $90 million and is trading around 26¢ a share, claims to be is the seventh-largest silver project in the world.
"Silver's not easy to get exposure to in Australia," said Tribeca's Mr Cleary. "And I expect both institutionally and central bank demand to increase for silver as an alternate store of wealth – in a negative real rate environment – versus gold."
Silver Mines suspects there is 400 million ounces of silver in the deposit. So far the firm has a plan to produce 8 million ounces of silver at $10 an ounce.
