I take it JL that you mean the White Australia Policy and I quite agree with you.
That policy which governed immigration was the very same policy in fact applied broadly across all of Europe and European - originated nations such as Australia, NZ and Canada.
This restrictive immigration policy ( no different in foundation from that run by any number of Asian countries up until this day ) made for societies which were at once prosperous , safe, cohesive, harmonious.
In Australia's case, the WAP made a great nation.
