Yes, Labor are an incompetent and amateurish bunch.
I posted before the last election, that Labor would say and do anything, merely to retain power. They recognised that failure to do so, would relegate them to the sewerage treatment plant for many years to come. In pre election days, Labor were full of bold claims based on long distance assumptions.
This is an excerpt from Dennis Shanahans article in The Australian yesterday.
"What's worse is that, even to come close to that original assumption, the Gillard government is going to have to ditch election promises and cut spending further.
Labor's principal aim of getting back to surplus "three years early" is either going to fail or result in harsh and unpopular spending cuts as well as broken promises." END
Now, anyone who has half a brain knew that it would not be so easy to bring the budget back into surplus in the time frames outlined by Swan. Especially with Labors track record of economic mismanagement and waste on a grand scale.
But, still, Treasurer Swan persevered with the rhetoric.
So, what was it Mr Swan?
Was it just incompetence, or just a straight out bald faced LIE????
Or a mixture of both.
Perhaps Mr Oakshott and Mr Windsor have something to offer which will help in the explanation. Apparently, they put lots of thought into their decisions.....LOL
cheers
