I don't understrand the argument that it would be OK for the Chinese to buy most of our Government bonds but not our assets?

Today's decision by Swan though was an APPROVAL for MinMetals to buy an Australian company and Australian assets. All they have to do is rejig it to exclude PH and they then have the OK to go ahead. It's the precedent and clearance they need to do takeovers of other Australain companies.
