It would only be "fair and equitable" if all industries were subject to the SPT. Why don't we tax the tourist industry for taking trips to 'our' natural resources like the Barrier Reef, or tax the Banks for profiting on our natural human resources! Dirt is no different to other assets which belong to the people........
