I am a shareholder since 2006 so you can imagine I have a rather vested interest in LNC (representing 60% of my portfolio). I want to poke as many holes in my investment to ensure it is safe-ish and I don?t see the company with rose tinted glasses.
"Show me any other UCG company that has constructed FOUR experimental pilot gasifiers that have PRODUCED liquids?"
Have you seen those liquids? LNC are still waiting to get the results of the lab tests. "liquids" have been produced since Oct 2008 yet, still no lab results, doesn?t that worry you? And it is LNC who are waiting for the results, not withholding the results. So let's hold off blowing the "liquids" trumpet until we get those lab results.
"Show me any other UCG company, that has exclusive use of fuel cell technology, that works!"
I will get excited when I see a practical commercial application and the cost/revenue. Demonstration success doesn?t equal commercial success. At this stage it seems like it is useful just for power generation. There are plenty of fuel cells out there, and fuels cells that have commenced commercial operations.
"Show me any other UCG company, that has had a commercial UCG plant, running for the past 50 years."
I like having Angren, it?s a feather in the LNC cap, but really, we all know that the technology Angren used is way out of date. Furthermore do we think that Angren has been put under the same environmental scrutiny that would be required in the western world? LNC have already made massive improvements to the Russian technology as they say, but this doesn?t mean LNC?s technology is better than anyone else?s.
"Show me ANY other UCG company that has the bank balance or assets that Linc does?"
I like money :), but there are some big boys doing UCG too, peek over to South Africa for the 2nd UCG commercial operation.
"No Linc aren't leading the pack, they are so far in front that they are in a class of their own!"
I disagree with you there and comments like these remind of the tale of the tortoise and the hare. I believe LNC has yet to score a single commercial success in line with its business plan. It sold a coal asset and will sell another couple, that is great from a funding perspective, but this is not their game plan. Name one commercial operation out there (other than Angren), even in the construction phase that is generating revenue. It doesn?t exist and we know it. LNC and maybe some shareholders may need to eat some humble pie before a tortoise passes them.
I am still a very very happy shareholder :)
