    Very true eagle and the article from memory states your point and also explains further the thought behind my selected quote.
    Should these people be as few in number as you may be suggesting, then it will not cost the gov much to compensate these folk (they could even buy their position out at a net cost of the transaction!)

    There is, as the comments suggest in the article, that some of these applicants have been refused on account of their inaccessible savings viewed as assets.
    Savings inaccessible because of the side effects of the bank guarantee and people refused despite Swans suggestion that they should go to centrelink for help!

    My view is that in what is a free capitalist country and people should be able to access their own money unhindered by government policies. The gov have created this mess and should provide for those they have unfairly effected. In the meantime the lucky folk with cash in the bank are laughing ... all the way to the .. !
