You appear to be dancing on the graves of many innocent Australians (yes Queenslanders are Australians too).
This is an unprecedented calamity. Thousands upon thousands of mums/dads/kids/elderly etc are right now confronting something many on here couldn't imagine. Homes lost, possessions lost, no where to live, memories gone and job gone.
On reflection maybe you can consider the plight of these your fellow Australians and stop worrying about whether you might have to pay an extra 1% tax or not. Someday the wheel may turn and you might be the one looking for some help from your fellow Australians.
