The Federal Government will today release its budget update - and it is expected to show a significant blowout in this year's deficit.
The Treasurer, Wayne Swan, says the economic turmoil in Europe has affected Australia's budget.
It is understood today's update will write down Government revenues by more than $20 billion over the forward estimates - meaning this year's budget deficit will be higher than the $22.5 billion forecast in May.
