    The problem with the game is that their are too many rules open to interpretation eg when a tackle is laid.

    It can be in the back.Holding the man.Holding the ball.Dropping the ball etc. and sometimes it depends on what side you follow to how you see it.A screaming crowd would have to sway the umpire to some degree .
    England in the cricket seem to have had the best of the decisions probablydue to the crowd

    Umpires do tend to be a strange bunch of fellows though and rather than being invisible as they should like to be noticed and play a part in the game.
