Christine Milne wants a financial transactions tax applied, but Swannee is saying its off his agenda.

Christine says it would raise funds to fight global pverty (!), and would discourgae short term financial speculation.

Perhaps she does not realise that it is her short term speculation that provides essential liquidity to markets, without which they would freeze up. I'm appalled that somebody so financially illiterate can rise to such a position of influence.
