I can assure you Cuppa, for the size of the city, hardly anyone gives a toss, despite certian media outlets trying their best. As a Sydney person born and bred, I am more than happy Sydney lost. Personally, can't stand the game, but accept others see it differently. I just see afl as wasting talent that could have otherise gone to football and rugby. Perhaps ex-pats in Sydney from other states are the most keen and for some reason it has grown in popularity in very rich north shore suburbs....perhaps as an alternative to those who don't like the private school rugby thing. There is definately a growing following, no doubt about it due to the mass saturation into schools with very clever administrators. They even went into my sons school and paid them to put in afl posts, which is a school which is soccer 70%, rugby league 20%.
I did hear there was a second team in our city though? Is that somewhere out west or south west?
