Oh yes... It seems to become a true story!!!
The new battery factory to be built by the Swedish company Northvolt, with Tesla's former logistics manager Peter Carlsson at the helm, will end up in one of the ten municipalities. It revealed the company at a press conference.
The company also discontinued the technology to be used in lithium-ion batteries, which should be used in everything from cars to buses, trucks, boats and construction machines.
Northvolt will produce cylindrical so-called 2170 battery cells where the numbers indicate the cell's dimensions in millimeters. They are slightly larger than the 18650 cells that are common on the electric car market today. But in the future, Northvolt will also look at another or two types of battery cells, which will be more suited to the automotive industry.
"There we are in discussions with the various car manufacturers about the form factors that work best to bring up the volume. We will make decisions during the summer months, just before we have to place orders for production equipment," says Peter Carlsson in a comment to Recharge.
