What we know:
Announcement of April 30-RC Drill program begins
Announcemtnt of May 29-32 holes drilled with assays from first 15...so drilling one hole/day and first 15 hole assay results took 2 weeks to receive...other 17 holes drilled were sent in for assay results which one would expect in another 2 weeks time, or by June 15 give or take...We are now about one week beyond that so these drill assays should be this week (hopefully)...And by now they should have completed about 50+ holes...
First 15 hole drill assay results-In looking at the first 15 DH assays and comparing to DH location map, I see holes 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6, 7, 8 and 14 all have the best cobalt grades....And those holes are on the NW end of the DH lines, toward the Swamp which at the moment is under water...And there is still 250m more in that direction until interpreted contact...So if higher grade continues into the Swamp, as it appears might be the case, resource size estimate (~40Mt @0.10 cobalt) by a few of the more knowledgeable posters here could increase quite a bit with another 250m of width to the NW...
And our managing director has stated: It should be noted that much of the north‐western limit of the Northern Target will initially remain open as presently the area remains covered with surface water. Landowners have indicated that these areas usually dry up by late June–early July and, in light of this, the Company will plan to drill these areas as soon as access allows –which could add considerable width to the already impressive +500m wide mineralised sections.
This week I will be looking forward to drill assays for at least the additional 17 drill holes completed by the May 29 announcement and maybe more good news beyond that...
The Anglo American Jacare Ni-Co deposit to the north is a monster....Vale hasn't published any data from their tenements between CTM and Jacare but with the assay results we have received from the first 15 holes, one could only expect Vale's deposit to be very good also...
So we have the continuation of the Jacare-Vale high grade mineralised Ni-Co trend...Also, with the Brazilian government recently announcing they are greatly easing mining restrictions/timing for permits, this should hopefully allow Salobo to continue on track for Q3 drilling...
Lots to look forward to now...
