DSO nickel laterite ore isn't very common (from my limited knowledge, happy to be proven wrong. I managed to find one (Philippines - http://www.mindoro.com/s/PressRelea...kel-Laterite-DSO-Shipments-in-March-For-US1.9...)
I think I can see the reason why it is uncommon - they are selling ore for ~$12.50 USD per tonne as per the release. I assume this is FOB (no shipping costs, so all revenue to the company) but the likelihood is that the refinery would need to be close by or else they would just buy ore from other areas.
It's not a bad little project if they can ship the ore at that price and get the equipment used/relatively cheap but it certainly won't light the world on fire.
I guess it just confirms for me that Salobo is more prospective than itapitanga (which is more of a nice to have/gravy).
