A few other things:
The flu does not seem to be winding down and it is well past the normal Northern Hemisphere seasonal flu season.
"We would be expecting to see the season to be slowing down or almost completely stopped," said Daniel Jernigan of the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. "But what we're seeing is there are some areas that actually have reports of the amounts of respiratory disease . . . that are equivalent to peak influenza season."

A large percentage of those with severe or fatal flu seam to have underlying health problems - asthma, diabeties or obesity.

But a number appear to be healthy.
Severe seasonal flu impacts almost entirely on those over 60yo (and a very large % over 70yo) with health problems.
2009 H1N1 is impacting on those <60yo and this is a worry.
