Batter up. "Batter" is fine for men's an women's cricket if the aim is to be more inclusive of women.
I don't mind them changing some words, but once you start, there's a cascade of changes that have to be made, like 12th man. The humorous part is that you inevitably hit an impasse where changes are highly impractical or impossible. eg. what do you call the "men's cricket team"? If the aim is to be inclusive, then "men's team" excludes those who identify as TQI+. It's not possible to do away with "man" or "woman" as words without mass confusion.
