What it means is the Swiss CB does not have those financial reserves anymore but only reserves in fiat currency whether foreign or domestic which may or may not become worthless very soon.
One imagines one would only sell their reserves or primary assets if there is absolutely no other way to raise enough money to keep the creditors from the door. They may get a lot of money but the money would be gone now and they are left with a much lower reserve.

. . . selling financial reserves (gold?)
and/or the dilution effect re: gold;

in relation to increased CHF printing,
exchanged into $US or €,
and earmarked as reserves!

Those gnomes of ZuRICH!
