hi ray
Yes there are a number of ducks now in the water and they do indeed seem to be lining up.
There was also the announcement by the Japanese pm at the g8 meeting that they intend to have solar panels on 10m japanese houses in coming years.
Neither northern Germany nor northern Japan are well suited to silicon solar so I do believe there is a real opening for dyesolar technology.
Something else that has not been talked about much is that one of the grand schemes the northern Europeans had for sourcing unconventional energy was to set up huge solar farms in north africa, together with huge wind farms in the north sea, and direct this electricity into a pan european grid. The logic was that northern Europe could not produce the solar energy and could not rely on the wind energy alone. But the uprisings in Tunisia and Lybia and the unrest elsewhere in north africa must seriously put that whole concept in doubt.
Dyesolar technology has two massive advantages over the north africa solar farm idea: it does not rely on the stability of foreign countries and it does not need a massive infrastructure build.
