These companies formed as a response to a problem. They didn't form and then invent the problem in order to make business for themselves. That would be absurd and impossible.

Fact: there are massive amounts of money and power behind the status quo, climate change sceptic, pro-hydrocarbon industry point of view and the other side of the debate has nothing but the weight of scientific evidence.
