    Hi smuggler, joemac and others, I would add to your comments about climate change that there is a high degree of doubt about CO2 being the major culprit. In fact, there is growing evidence that variation in solar radiation could be a big factor.
    It is also interesting to consider the role of forests in the production of clouds. It seems that aerosols given off from tree foliage and flowers create conditions for water vapour in the air to condense and make clouds. In this regard I think there is too much exploitation of tropical forests.
    There is also too much diversion of food crops (like corn) into bio-diesel fuel production as promoted in the US - think about the polution costs of making fertiliser and in farm macinery. The more you think about it the bigger the problem of global warming becomes.
