billy, in case you haven't woken up, a drought involves a reduction in rainfall for the duration of the drought whether it is a 2 year drought or a 10 year drought. A drought is a short term weather event and not climate change.
The rainfall in the south west according to the BOM data
has only been significantly lower in 4 out of the last 6 years, 7 out of the last 20 years or 10 out of the last 30 years. Once the current drought breaks the basis on which you are base your argument, that is a couple of consectively dry years will be gone completely.
Anyone who is trying to portray climate change as a change happening over a period shorter than what some weather cycles occur is simply not with it.
