    I think that's a bit unrealistic though fringedweller. You may be able to make that kind of thing happen in Australia (but probably not) but no chance getting it to work in the rest of the world. Ziggy's point about there being no such thing as "national warming" is valid.

    But, for example, if we became the world's aluminium smelter using geothermal energy, we could reduce the worlds output of CO2 by BILLIONS of tonnes per annum and earn ourselves a healthy income while we were at it.
