[NB. Not directly SXY-related] The Iranian drone downing gives Donald Trump a very difficult problem. If he bombs Iran, people will be killed and he will come under vitriolic verbal attack from allies. If he doesn't bomb Iran, he will be accused of wimping on a "line in the sand" like the spineless Barack Obama. It was a very neat tactic by Iran. Donald Trump's solution, to do a hack attack and boost sanctions, is a very neat way of dealing with it.
Incidentally, it is not generally helpful to treat statements by Donald Trump at face value - his modus operandi is to issue OTT conflicting statements on sensitive issues so that he can keep everyone off balance. People who mock him for crazy statements are typically underestimating him - which is exactly what he wants.
