Weekly Review Li Stocks - 16th May 2025

Here is the weekly review figures and charts that I do every week. It is useful only for those interested in trading or those who hold multiple shares and based on performance would like to keep re-balancing as we go. I do hold a number of Li stocks and like to trade. This is the reason I include a number of Li Stocks in my analysis.I also have performances of Li stocks for 2024 and 2023 - for those interested in looking at longer term view.

This is no reflection of all AU Li stocks as I have only included those that I am interested. In my list are shares that I hold, held before or planning to buy in near future. Since this is my list, I may have missed some good stocks. The averages are simple averages and not weighted averages. So the average don't reflect AU Li average. This is just for my tracking and analysis. I have both ASX and US stocks in two separate figures.

From a weekly perspective, SYA did not have a good week. It dropped from 1.8 to 1.6, with a very high volume on Friday. Overall Li macro is still playing weak. There has been a surge in LTR, but it looks like its something specific to that stock and the good sentiment has not yet rubbed off to other Li stocks. CXO too had a good announcement and jump. So at least there are some good signs after over an year of inaction. The Li macro has not yet improved. No clear signs of reversal yet. Spot price still tight, still doing small drops every week, for several weeks now, down around 10% for the month. So it looks like more wait for now.

Major price action indicators were down -

• ALB - gain of around 4%, last week it lost 4%, so just flipping around rather than moving ahead
• Ganfeng - Loss of 0.6 for week, last week gain of 3% for the week, Tianqi loss of 0.8% for week, last week gain of 2%
• PLS/LTR - PLS gain of 6%, last week flat, LTR big gain of 28% on the back of 23% gain last week
• Spot Price - Loss of over 1% for week, now a drop of 10% for the month

So what do these numbers say? The narrative around inconsistent play continues. I have been writing for several weeks that all jurisdictions (US/ASX/Chinese) need to go up together. No signs yet. The numbers I report every week, there is no consistency yet. Small gains followed by small losses. And then repeat. Spot price has been falling for several weeks now. 10% drop in a month is high, especially when at one stage it looked like it may have reached bottom. Some positives though - LTR/CXO good play. PLS on the rise and has moved over 30% from its recent low. So signs are there. But we need more. Lets hope it happens soon.

So what may happen next week? On Friday, US Li stocks had small loss. General markets green. So a tentative start on Monday and then wait for Chinese play.
