If you earn less than $65k you should just give up an go on the dole. Once you take out tax, the cost of having a car commuting to work, tolls, fuel, insurances, clothing, washing, the odd coffee or cafe lunch whilst at work, the odd beer or dinner after work, you are probably left with $500 a week. So all that to only be $100-$200 better off than someone chilling on their ass doing nothing haha. Like imagine being paid $21.50/hr minimum wage to do yucky jobs, to then after tax and the cost of having a job, you probably walk away with $9-$10 haha, why bother. You won’t own a house, and u are paying your money in rent to somebody else who makes more money than you. Thats why this country is a mess, unemployment is too low, ppl need to refuse to work unless they are getting paid a decent income. I don’t think it’s acceptable that a person on $250k+ p.a expects a person getting $9 in their back pocket to clean the turd marks from their dunny, whilst also taking whatever little money they have left from them in the form of rent. All citizens in this country should get paid a wage that enables them to own a house where they live, and unfortunately that doesn’t exist in this country. Because of this something will eventually break down, not sure when or how but eventually it’ll go.
