    Ardent , seriously, you cant say they werent the thugs, and i wonder who the police are referring to.
    Lets call it as it is, this isnt Beirut, if they want a stoush, they know where they can go:

    Meanwhile, NSW Police Assistant Commissioner Dick Adams said a group of men likely aged in their 20s were largely responsible for the Sydney violence.

    "A large group of Middle Eastern males started to engage and incite the police ... we are not going to fight the civil population," Mr Adams said.

    Sydney police could not reveal details of all arrests, saying they had confirmation 11 people were charged and seven issued with infringement notices for breaching the peace.
