well if you really are a furious willy there is more than one way to make money to get a roof over your head, its a deductible expense too
which brings to my other thought of the day, I can see in the future that people will game the neg. gearing tax , like for example builders offering two identical properties in the same subdivision on same sized blocks, where the PPOR's rent of each other and claim negative gearing
