Can't see where I attempt to discredit the figures. I am simply pointing out their acknowledged volatility and lack of seasonal adjustment. Nor do I think it's unreasonable to make those caveats clear (when printing their press releases as Domain did in the link at the top of this thread).
I think I'm correct in saying that data providers APM, RP Data, Residex and the state REI bodies all claimed large gains for Q1. Against that, ABS figures suggested zero gains and now (in Melbourne) the Valuer General is detailing falls.
I haven't got a clue which data is the most accuracte, but as I mentioned in the last post I think it's most likely to be the verified figures available three months after the sale. Is that not a fair assumption?
