Sydney siege gunman's partner Amirah Droudis in court for bail review: Magistrate examines video evidence

A Sydney magistrate is examining video evidence as part of a bail review hearing for Amirah Droudis, the partner of the Lindt cafe gunman.
Droudis is charged with murdering Noleen Hayson Pal, the ex-wife of Man Haron Monis, who took 17 people hostage last week inside the Lindt cafe in Martin Place.
Ms Hayson Pal was stabbed multiple times and set alight at a western Sydney apartment block last year.
Monis had been on bail charged with being an accessory to murder.
New South Wales Attorney-General Brad Hazzard asked the Director of Public Prosecutions to review Droudis's case in the wake of the siege.
Droudis was swarmed by media when she stepped out of a taxi to face Downing Centre Local Court in Sydney this morning.
Wearing a white beanie and sunglasses, she said nothing to reporters, but her stepbrother asked for them to be left alone.
The DPP argued bail should be reviewed in light of new circumstances, which include the siege and videos posted online.
The prosecution told the court the video is evidence of her willingness to act on Monis's behalf.
Droudis's legal team told the court the bail review was frivolous and argued it should be refused.
Chief Magistrate Graeme Henson adjourned the court for two hours to allow both legal teams to watch the videos.
"There is a need not to be overborne of emotion and that justice in a democratic society should be applied to all," Mr Henson said.
After a brief return, Mr Henson again adjourned the hearing until 2:00pm (AEDT) so he could examine fresh video evidence in relation to the bail review.
