Aren't these little chikkies wonderful, curbing their consumption so that some can continue to profit from pumping people into this country? I wonder if any of them ever consider what they get out of it?

    Sydney water use drops again

    16jul04

WATER consumption across the Sydney basin this week dropped to its second lowest point since mandatory water restrictions began, acting New South Wales Energy and Utilities Minister John Hatzistergos said today.

Mr Hatzistergos said dam levels fell only 0.3 percentage points this week to a total capacity of 46.6 per cent due to reduced water consumption and rainfall across Sydney, the Illawarra and the Blue Mountains last weekend.
"The rain over the weekend combined with a drop in water consumption over the last seven days has meant Sydney's dam levels have only dropped 0.3 per cent," he said.

"Water consumption over the last week is the second lowest since mandatory water restrictions began."

12mm of rain was recorded over the Warragamba catchment, 15mm in the Shoalhaven and an average of 30mm at Woronora and the Upper Nepean.

But Mr Hatzistergos warned people to remain vigilant, with water levels at Warragamba dam, the main source of Sydney's drinking water, at only 43.2 per cent capacity.

He said another 27 infringement notices were issued this week, making a total of 1154 since restrictions began last October.
