Heres the news you don't read in their announcements.

"Today Synlait announced the redundancies of a significant part of its truck driving workforce.

It is in discussion with the drivers and the local union, Idrive, on the probable financial impacts on the Drivers and their families.

Today CEO Leon Clemnets announced "In our pursuit of eliminating CO2 we are going to establish a rail link between Dunsandle and Lyttleton port. This means we no longer require the services of the Drivers who would ordinarily be making an average of 44 x 2 hour round trip deliveries every day.

Sadly these job losses are an unintended consequence of our steadfast ambition to doing milk differently for a healthier world"

NZ Minister of Transport, the highly regarded and most successful of all Cabinet Ministers in the nations Coalition Government said " we are very disappointed in this development. Our government is committed to the development of sustainable industries and we have invested heavily in Southern Motorway links. Stage one development already saw Improved travel times to the Port. Stage 2 is a resounding success seeing significant improvement from Rolleston. Further four laneing from Rolleston to Ashburton is quite feasible and is next on my list of things to do. Sometimes I am left wondering "why do we bother?"

Minister of Climate change, and Green Party Co-Leader James Shaw was woken for a comment. "Look, 2001 was our "nuclear Moment" when we actively supported the ban of dihydrogen monoxide. So today we stand proud of our stand to ban CO2. As Frankie said "what is it good for? Absolutely nothing" The Minister then had to leave as he had an appointment with his caucus to explain how voice voting worked in parliament.
