Seems appropriate for the Synlait threat
Here's my charts of A2M Infant formula exports from Lyttleton Port (Synlait Dunsandel) for the past year.
It does not include any A2M IF that might leave via other NZ ports, but Lyttleton is still generally accepted to represent the majority of A2M exports in particular to China. Not sure where MVM products are exported from but that would represent an increasing small but increasing share of A2M exports not included here.
Exports to Australia trending slightly down, which is consistent with the conversion of Australian daigou sales to direct CBEC sales in China. I think the big spike in Australian exports back in November last year would have corresponded with the new English Label product transition (but I may also be losing track of time and when that was...)
China exports still slightly growing over time whilst 'rest of the world' is relatively stable/flat.
Here's the data if anyone wants. In recent months there is a bit of a dip in China exports which is consistent with the highlighted Synlait supply issues. So it will be interesting to see if there is a major spike in the next few months as they play catch up.
