Of course it is a weight around Synlait's neck. It'll be valuable to someone with actual customers and production demand, whereas that clearly is not Synlait at this point, which makes the facility more of a liability to them specifically.
There is no such thing as an 'underperforming plant', yes it may be underperforming in the context of Synlait's poorly run business but I think we can agree virtually anyone else could do a better job.
I gave a couple examples already of potential parties who might be interested but I am sure there would be other multinationals as well.
