Verner is talking about a business opportunity selling production from Vidalia and building a Vidalia equivalent in Europe. As well all know, there is a massive expansion of battery manufacturing facilities being built in the USA. Most if not all companies building the battery manufacturing plants in the US also have plants in Europe which solely rely on China for natural AAM.

This is not about displacing Chinese production. It's about helping meet the global growth in demand for AAM in consort with the Chinese and de-risking supply chains.

Balama currently sells graphite flake into the European markets. A small amount of battery grade graphite required for industrial purposes but mainly larger size flake. The vast majority of both still go to China. It was interesting to note from the Fastmarkets global graphite prices table @BGI just posted, Europe is experiencing tight supply. There is an opportunity to sell more if SYR can find space on a ship heading to Europe at really good prices. $100-$300 per tonne more than we get in China. Maybe even more as it probably won't have already been contracted at the lesser earlier prices like a lot of the orders from China. Current Chinese prices are still excellent.

I'm expecting the same price increases reported in the next week or two from China if the Chinese Govt doesn't step in and puts the kibosh on it like they're trying to do with Lithium.
