There seems to be no limit to the shares available to short. They must have huge paper profits atm but they need to cover their positions and buy back on market if they are going to crystallise those returns. Will they be able to cover cheaply...only time will tell.
My concern is who is doing all the shorting. With DOE and Vadalia news on the horizon (or so we are to believe), shorting seems like a risky strategy. Do the shorters know better or are they taking a punt. I don't believe the brokers get it right all the time. Hopefully they are wrong here.
