Under the general ASX thread - Here come the activist short sellers - there was a "clue" the other stock he was about to short was in "resources" - there have been 3 resource stocks under constant short attack - they include SYR, ORE and WSA. In Australia, Mr Aandahl says the company sees particular opportunity for shorting in the resources and agricultural sectors.

“In those situations you’re effectively relying on the integrity and promises of management.

“In resources, there’s an enormous gap in those companies between when they discover a resource and when there’s actual cash flow realised from that ... You’re essentially relying on people’s promises, their characterisation of a business model, for a payout and while some managers are pretty credible, there’s a couple that aren’t.”
