There are many many examples where shorters predicting share price will drop have really got it wrong.
Just google it like i just did and i could find 50+ examplea in resource sector alone where shorters got it wrong over the last 18 months on their predictions... they dont preach the ones they get wrong, which from what i have seen is about 50 percent of the time. Which is why we dont hear about them. Also the shortees want the general public to panic and sell based on a fear tactic becauae drops in price= profits in the pockets of the shorters....come on man... guessing you are shorting the stock?
