It is a city/town in Louisiana USA. Home to a new (open any day) Syrah Technologies facility that will take the graphite mined by Syrah, in Mozambique, and produce a much value-added Battery Anode Material that can be directly used in producing EV Car batteries.
Important because of the value add, and because the output may be labeled 'Made in the USA" which may turn out to be very useful.
Some concerns are about in that local district on the use of chemicals - acids included. Given some extremely large court awarded damages claims in the USA there has to be a commercial risk if there is any miss hap.
