Excuse the spelling in my post above. I will be able to say more when we find out if and how the al Bab offensive gathers steam and who participates. Reported Russian air strikes points to possible Regime or Iranian participation. US Special Forces are embedded within the SDF. These parties could cut the ISIS supply lines completely by linking their front lines to the South of al Bab after which the SDF could move quickly to the North of Al Bab to link with the YPG (SDF) held lines to the West (thus linking the cantons while also putting Al Bab under siege. For the moment I can only work with hypotheticals however this particular hypothetical would limit Turkish/extreme Islamist gains from the conflict and completely block all of the ISIS supply lines from Turkey to Raqqa and onto Mosul in Iraq.
