Just because the US, who are funding the "Rebels" who fly the Al Qaeda black flag, has a counterclaim doesn't mean what they say is true Aimone. Regardless, the Israeli's bombed within Syria's borders and in so doing have violated the 1974 accord between the two countries. As a result of this attack Syria has written a formal letter of complaint to Ban Ki-moon.
The greater significance to the region is the risk of escalation beyond Syria's borders. Should this occur then perhaps the attack, which is undeniable, will be recorded by history as "the Israeli mistake".

From the Russians: "Russia was the first nation to react to news of the Israeli airstrike, and said it was taking urgent action to verify the reports.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on its website that Moscow was "deeply concerned" by the reports of the Israeli strike, which could be considered a violation of international law.
“If these reports are confirmed then we are dealing with an unprovoked attack on sovereign territory which is a flagrant violation of the UN charter and is unacceptable no matter what the justifications may be,” the statement read.
