Yeah Maaze I watched the first half and thought that Syria had more zip than our players. The brutal reality seems to be that our current batch of players is simply not good enough to compete against anyone resembling quality. Aaron Mooy fed enough quality ball foward last night for insufficient gain. Same against the Thais. It is annoying how the commentators (both on 9 and on SBS) always gild the lilly on what has been a disappointing period for the sport. Let's see how the A League goes this season - some of the A League "action" last season was just rubbish - but I get the sense that soccer / football in this country is going backwards.
