I hope so .....jihadists don't tend to "fit in" well with other factions in governemnt .
But as you describe the russ influence in the country has been destructive and negatie and it's current reduction can only be a good thing . Assd has no validity as leader apart from what russia gives him ......russias Vietnam .
Hopefully russia will lose their air bases and sea base in Syria - another indirect consequence of their greed fior Ukrinian land . Since 2022 we've now seen russian influence waning in central asia , Armenia and now Syria and Serbian shells turning up in Ukraine tells an interesting story too . The russian influence is toxic for the countries it still influences , particularly in AFRICA .
